I’m putting out a call to any of my readers who have information about the Korean War (or police action). Actual experiences of yours or someone you know, funny anecdotes, ways to serve without killing, all would be appreciated. The main character, Joe Sandersen, is a minor character in my book Leaving Mark in which he’s a high school basketball coach; therefore, anything he could do in Korea prior to that which involves sports but not killing would also be appreciated.
What was the Korean landscape like?
What was the food like?
Did the soldiers have to learn Korean?
Anything you can tell me to get a grasp of the situation, would be most helpful. I also might name a character after you if the information is helpful to my story. Joe is from New Haven, CT.
